• Welcome Comrades.

The Zetkin Collective is an ecosocialist group of scholars and activists working primarily on the political ecologies of the far right.

Originally formed around the Human Ecology division at Lund University in the summer of 2018, the Zetkin Collective is now internationally based. You can find out about the current members of the Collective here.

Thinking, discussing and writing together, we analyse the ascendence of the far right in times of climate collapse. You can find our latest collective work here.

In our latest essay, The Great Driving Right Show, we offer a conjunctural analysis of the so-called ‘war on cars’. We show how the far right is increasingly cathecting its project to cars and the ideals and associated with fossil-powered automobility. Amidst political, economic and environmental crises, we explain why the car is becoming a cipher for a broader set of struggles and a symbol for the far right’s fantasies about individual liberty, the nuclear family, the ‘energy-secure’ nation, and ‘the people’. The essay is forthcoming in Salvage Magazine.
